England – Stuart Smith, a beloved father and lifelong Leeds United fan, has tragically passed away following complications from elective surgery. Stuart had been fighting hard to recover from a cancer diagnosis he received in 2021. After undergoing reconstructive bowel surgery in August 2024, he faced numerous challenges and, despite his perseverance, passed away after weeks of pain and fighting.
Stuart’s wife, Emma Smith, has organized a GoFundMe campaign in hopes of raising £2,500 to cover the funeral costs and give her husband the send-off he truly deserves. She also expressed her wish to create memorial jewelry pieces for herself and their children, should there be any remaining funds.
Emma shared her deep admiration for her late husband, describing him as a “larger than life” figure with a great sense of humor. His love for his family and Leeds United was evident to all who knew him.
Several friends and family members took to Facebook to express their condolences and support.

The fundraiser has garnered 11 donations so far, raising £210 toward the goal. Emma and the family are deeply grateful for any contributions and shares as they aim to give Stuart a farewell fitting of the man he was.
