Liberal, Kansas – Teresa Lynn Penry, a cherished mother of two, tragically passed away on October 1, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with renal disease.
She died peacefully at 4:03 p.m., leaving behind her two children, aged 25 and 17, who are struggling to cope with the loss of their mother while facing financial difficulties in arranging her final rites.
Teresa had been relying on a life insurance policy to cover funeral expenses, but it was recently discovered that the policy will only provide $130, as she hadn’t been paying into it for long.
Her family is now reaching out to the community for support during this difficult time.
Many friends and family members expressed their condolences on social media.
Yolanda Erives, Teresa’s sister, wrote, “My sister’s life journey came to an end today… may her spirit find peace.”
Brenda Marie Henderson shared, “Gonna miss her so much, especially her being so sassy,” while Janine Lovato expressed, “So sorry.”
A fundraiser has been organized to help support her children in providing Teresa with a proper farewell.
The community continues to offer prayers and support for the grieving family.
