Englewood, Ohio – Thomas “Tom” Slentz, a cherished member of the Northmont City community and a dedicated Physical Education teacher, tragically passed away recently, leaving family, friends, and students mourning his loss.
Tom Slentz, a Northmont High School graduate himself, devoted his life to educating and inspiring students in his hometown. He was known for his passion for physical education and his deep connection to the community, where he grew up and later returned to serve as a teacher.
The Northmont school district expressed their grief, stating, “Please join us in extending heartfelt condolences to Mr. Slentz’s family and friends during this difficult time. Counseling services will be available for students and staff.”
Friends and acquaintances shared their sorrow on social media. Todd Broomhall wrote, “It’s with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to my lifelong friend Tom… my thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.” Daniel Wilker added, “This took me by surprise. I have been thinking and praying for Tom since I heard.”
