Renfrew, Ontario – Todd Clarke, a beloved figure in the hockey community and former assistant coach with the Pembroke Lumber Kings and Renfrew Wolves, has tragically passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Clarke’s death over the weekend has left many in the Ottawa Valley heartbroken.
His contributions to both minor and junior hockey left an indelible mark on players and teams across the region.
Clarke’s role as a coach, mentor, and friend was recognized by his colleagues and players alike.
The Renfrew Wolves issued a statement honoring Clarke, noting, “Those who had the honor of knowing him will cherish and remember his influence as a mentor and friend.”
Ryan Leonard, former head coach of the Wolves, shared his memories of working with Clarke, stating, “Watching him go through this process the last three years, we lived it with him as he toughed it out to continue coaching and living life to the fullest.”
Clarke’s dedication to the sport and his resilience during his illness earned him admiration from all who knew him.
The Pembroke Lumber Kings and the Renfrew Minor Hockey Association also expressed their condolences, remembering Clarke as a devoted coach, husband, father, and friend.
