Towanda Resident Nancy Jolene Riner Passes Away at 78 – Community to Honor Her Legacy with Celebration of Life

Towanda, KS – Nancy Jolene Riner, a beloved member of the Towanda community, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, September 8th, at the age of 78. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Kenneth Riner, Sr.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, October 11th, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 529 N 11th St, Towanda, KS. The community is invited to join her family and friends in honoring her memory through stories, music, and heartfelt tributes.

Nancy was known for her warmth and dedication to her family and the Towanda community. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family as she actively participated in local events and gatherings, always offering a helping hand or a kind smile.

Many took to Facebook to express their condolences and share their memories of Nancy. Traci RL wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I am posting this. My beautiful momma was laid to rest yesterday. Many thanks to all of those who came.” Timothy Rankin added, “You and your family have my condolences, Traci.”

Patric Preboth expressed his sorrow, saying, “Our sincere condolences,” while Treva Gulley-Sims shared, “Tracey, this is my first time seeing this. You are in my thoughts and prayers, my friend. Please call me if you need to talk.”

Nancy’s impact on those around her was evident through the numerous heartfelt messages. Becky Engels posted, “Thinking of you and sending hugs and prayers for the loss of your mother.” Francine Miller wrote, “My deepest condolences to you and your family. Will continue to pray for you all. God bless and comfort you and give you strength.”

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the 12 Baskets Ministry in El Dorado, KS, in Nancy’s name. This organization provides much-needed food to those in need, reflecting Nancy’s lifelong commitment to helping others.

Nancy Jolene Riner will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for her loved ones and community.
