Renmark, Australia – Vasilios (Bill) Ekonomopoulos, a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 23, 2024, at the age of 72.
His departure has left a profound void in the lives of his family and friends, who remember him for his warmth, kindness, and dedication.
Bill was the devoted husband of Christine and the loving father of Louie and Chelsea, Mitch and Theodora, and George and Natalie.
He was also a cherished Pappou to his grandchildren: Georgia, Lucy, Billy, Christabelle, Anastasia, Ava, Penelope, and William.
His family was the center of his life, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bill’s passing was announced with gratitude to the medical staff at the Riverland Regional Hospital, who cared for him with compassion and professionalism during his illness.
The Ekonomopoulos family expressed their heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported them during this difficult time.
A funeral service will be held at Sts Constantinos & Eleni Greek Orthodox Church in Renmark on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 11 a.m.
Following the service, the cortege will proceed to the Renmark Cemetery for the committal.
In lieu of flowers, Bill’s family has requested that donations be made to Cancer Council SA in his memory, honoring his life by supporting a cause close to his heart.
Bill will be remembered not only for his love and dedication to his family but also for the kindness and generosity he extended to his community.
His legacy of warmth and compassion will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
