William (Billy) M. Walker, Beloved Rehoboth Police Detective, Passes Away Peacefully at Age 70

Newton, Massachusetts – William (Billy) M. Walker, a respected Rehoboth Police Officer and beloved family man, passed away peacefully at his home on September 30, 2024, at the age of 70.

Billy was surrounded by his family during his final moments.

He was the son of the late Charles (Bill) and Eileen Walker and was known for his deep love for Boston sports, his passion for music, and his skills on the drums and Bodhrán.

Billy grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, and pursued a career in law enforcement, serving as a Rehoboth Police Officer for over 20 years and later being promoted to Detective.

He was also an avid fan of outdoor activities, enjoying boating and fishing.

Billy is survived by his son Matthew Walker and daughter-in-law Melanie of Bellingham, MA, his daughter Michelle Walker of Plainville, MA, and five grandchildren: Gregory, Abby, Olivia, Kayla, and Riley.

He is also survived by his siblings: Mary Bernard of Waltham, MA, Brian Walker of Florida, Barbara Murphy of Natick, MA, and Andrew Walker of Walpole, MA, along with their respective families.

Social media has been filled with heartfelt condolences from friends and loved ones.

Ken Mitrano wrote, "My condolences to the Walker family so sorry for your loss.

Thoughts and prayers are with you," while Nick Metcalf shared, "I am sorry for your loss."

Billy’s family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute or HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care in his memory.

Private services will be held to honor his life and legacy.
