Matthew Alan Gibson, a 32-year-old resident of Hernando, Mississippi, has passed away following a tragic automobile accident on September 19, 2024. Born on October 13, 1991, at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, Matthew was a promising individual who had recently graduated with honors from Wilmington University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity.
Remembered for his gentle spirit and infectious laughter, Matthew was passionate about gaming, music, and spending time with his family, including his two beloved cats, Midnight and Sunshine. His family shared that he was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
“He was a big part of the Hernando Walmart family as well,” said Michelle Richardson, highlighting the impact he had on those around him. “Such a joy to have known him,” added Ramona Ellis-Hobbs-Hall, who expressed her sorrow at his passing.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Matt and Susana Gibson, and two sisters, Megan and Michelle, along with extended family. A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
